- Debuting at the New York auto show, the 2026 Hyundai Palisade has a boxier look and updated powertrains.
- Both a V-6 and a four-cylinder hybrid setup will be offered on U.S.-spec models.
- Hyundai is also launching a rugged XRT Pro trim with more ground clearance and a terrain-mode drive selector.
While we got a preview of the 2026 Hyundai Palisade when the Korea-market version was revealed in December, the boldly styled SUV’s U.S.-specific specs remained up in the air. The North American variant made its debut at the New York auto show today, and it’s launching with a new V-6 as well as an optional hybrid powertrain.
The standard engine is the gas-powered 3.5-liter six, and it makes 287 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic is standard, but buyers can choose from front- or all-wheel drive. For the first time, the Palisade will offer a hybrid option, and the electrified powertrain is a fresh one that consists of a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a pair of electric motors that combine for 329 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque.

The hybrid comes with a six-speed automatic and can be had with either front- or all-wheel drive. A 5000-pound towing maximum matches that of the previous-generation Palisade, but you’ll need to get the V-6 for that. Otherwise, the hybrid tows up to 4000 pounds.
XRT Pro Enters the Chat
Building off the successful XRT model from the previous generation, Hyundai is relaunching that trim as the XRT Pro this year. The company says the XRT Pro features both hardware and software updates to make it more capable off-road. A raised suspension gives the XRT Pro an inch of extra ground clearance compared with the regular Palisade. An electronic limited-slip differential for the rear axle is standard.

A set of all-terrain tires wraps trim-specific 18-inch wheels, and all XRT Pro models come with an all-wheel-drive system with Mud, Sand, and Snow terrain modes. Other software upgrades include a 360-degree camera system with a forward ground-view mode.

The Palisade’s new design is bolder and more upscale-looking than before, even if it does quite obviously borrow elements from the Land Rover Range Rover. The wheelbase has been stretched by 2.7 inches over last year’s Palisade, and the overall length has grown by 2.5 inches. The new Palisade looks most luxurious in its top Calligraphy trim level, which rolls on 21-inch wheels.
Inside, the extra space created by the stretched wheelbase benefits second- and third-row riders most. A second-row bench seat is standard and creates an interior with room for eight, but second-row captain’s chairs are available if you can make do with just seven seats. The Korean-market example offers a nine-seat setup with a front bench, but that option isn’t happening on our shores.

The interior design is as fresh as the exterior. The upright dashboard is highlighted by a flowing metal trim line that wraps up and over a large digital display showing both gauges and infotainment. The dual 12.3-inch screens feature wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, but native navigation is available for those who prefer not to link their phones.
When? And How Much?
Only the XRT Pro, Limited, and Calligraphy trims have been announced so far, but we expect to see high-value SE and SEL trims round out the lower end of the lineup. Pricing also hasn’t been mentioned, but to remain competitive in the three-row-SUV segment, a starting MSRP of around $40,000 is most likely the target. Higher-end trims, especially those with the optional hybrid powertrain, are likely to reach the high-$50,000 range.
Hyundai says the V-6-powered Palisade will hit dealerships this summer, but the hybrid models won’t land in showrooms until this fall. The 2026 Palisade will be manufactured in South Korea. That means the launch timing and ultimately the price of the Palisade may be subject to change due to the chaotic and unpredictable future of tariffs for products produced outside the United States.
